How to create a new gift voucher type

By default you have purchased 6 different gift vouchers in your Gift Voucher Shop could be. €25, €50, €75, €100, €150 and one where the customer himself amount you can choose. You can also add extra varieties to this yourself on different ways. Learn a new kind of gift vouchers in this article to create.

Tip

Take a test every time you create a new type of gift voucher to to see if your gift voucher is working properly in your online gift voucher shop. Go too to your cash register and purchase the gift voucher internally.

Create gift voucher type with value

Would you like customers to be able to purchase a voucher for a different value? you add one:

  1. Go to Icon > Gift Cards > Products.
  2. Copy an existing gift voucher using the copy button.
  3. Now only change the name of the gift voucher. You do that at Product.
    • For example "Gift voucher €175".
  4. Click Save and Update. you see now a price line where you can enter the price of the gift voucher.
    • Indicate as Unit Piece .
    • At P.incl VAT you enter the price of the gift voucher in. That price will not be on the gift voucher and is only visible for those who purchase the gift voucher.
    • Indicate % VAT as 0%
    • Indicate Type of period as Year and Type of period start date as Day of purchase.
    • At # per. you can specify the number of periods this voucher is valid, with Type period year and the default value 1, the voucher is valid for 1 year.
    • Click Save below the price line.
  5. Press Save all the way bottom, it is important that you save both. 
Tip

You can also determine the order via the index of the gift voucher.

 

  • Customers can always determine the value of a gift voucher themselves via Gift Voucher Free Amount.

  • you can also delete certain gift vouchers via the Icon you don't want to offer it in your gift voucher shop.

Packages or vouchers for special occasions

An arrangement is a gift voucher template in your Resengo with no value on it but the name of the gift voucher itself only stands up. For example, you can create a create a voucher for a three-course menu. 

  1. Go to Icon > Gift Cards > Products.
  2. Copy an existing gift voucher using the copy button.
  3. Change the name of the gift voucher at Product. For example "Valentine's Dinner for 2".
  4. Choose at Gift voucher template then Package.
  5. Click Save and Update. you see now a price line where you can enter the price of the voucher.
    • Indicate as Unit Piece .
    • At P.incl VAT you give the price of the package in. That price is not on the gift voucher and is only visible to the person who purchases the gift voucher.
    • Click Save below the price line.
  6. Press Save twice at the bottom.
Tip

Take a test to see if your arrangement works well in your online gift voucher shop. Also go to your cash register and buy the gift voucher internally. You can go through the index also determine the order of the gift voucher. 

Promotional vouchers

Promotional vouchers are vouchers that you can create for promotional purposes. so can for example, you can create a certain number of free vouchers that you can then hand out to customers.

First we create the gift voucher type Promotional voucher:

  1. Go to Icon > Gift Cards > Templates and types.
  2.  Copy your existing gift voucher.
    • Normally this is called: Gift voucher [your business name].
  3. Choose Gift Voucher Type: Promotional Voucher [,VoucherID,VerificationCode,].

Now we will create the gift voucher.

  1. Go to Icon Orders > Gift vouchers.
  2. click on Icon om create a new voucher.
  3. Set the following values and then click Start creation:
Type of gift voucher Promotional voucher
Gift voucher Template Value
Number of vouchers to create 1 or more if needed.
Value value of the gift voucher
Valid from and Valid until the validity date of the gift voucher(s)
Description you can enter a description that can also be shown on the gift voucher. That depends on your template. (optional)

Sold to

 if desired, select the person to whom the voucher was sold. (optional)

Date sale

 enter date of sale here.
Comments any comments about the creation, that will only be shown internally.

 

Gift vouchers for promotional purposes are not created via the shop because otherwise they will appear in your cash and revenue report.

A gift voucher with a value greater than the amount paid

To give a promotion on your gift vouchers, you can give your gift vouchers a higher value than the value your guest pays.

Example

A gift voucher worth € 40 where the guest only € 30 to pay.

  1. Go to Icon > Gift Cards > Products.
  2. Click the copy button next to the gift voucher you want to promote.
  3. Adjust the text of your gift voucher. From Gift voucher € 30 make your Gift voucher € 40.
  4. In the field Fixed value gift voucher enter the value of the gift voucher (In this case 40).
  5. Possibly with description, you can put a text around the promo even more clearly to make.
  6. Click Save and Update. You see now a price line where you can enter the price of the gift voucher. 
    • Indicate as Unit Piece .
    • At P.incl VAT you give the price of the gift voucher that your guest will pay. Here you give in this case € 30 in.
    • Click Save below the price line.
  7. Click Save at the bottom twice.
